From The Red-Maned Steed to Lady Precious Stream—Flowing Deformation of Chinese Traditional View of Love in Adaptation
In the English drama Lady Precious Stream,it's found that the Chinese traditional view of love presented in the Chinese traditional opera The Red-Maned Steed has been modified by the author Shih-I Hsiung.This paper intends to investigate how Shih-I Hsiung made changes of love views through the image building of the main characters and il-lustrates the deep-rooted reasons,in the aim of providing some enlightment to the traditional Chinese opera going out.
