Theoretical Investigations on a Terahertz Gyrotron with Magnetic Cusp Gun
Based on the excellent harmonic operating characteristics of the magnetic Cusp gun and the special coupling mechanism of the complex cavity,a high harmonic terahertz gyrotron with magnetic Cusp gun and complex cavity is realized to solve the serious mode competition of gyrotron working at terahertz band.The specific structure of the magnetic Cusp gun is optimized,and a large-orbit beam is realized with a voltage of 59kV,a current of 0.92A,a pitch factor of 1.36,a guiding center radius of 0.05mm and a ve-locity spread less than 5%.By optimizing the parameters,a fourth harmonic gyrotron with a working fre-quency of 1THz and an output power of 0.5 kW is achieved.
