Research on a Terahertz Gyro-TWT Based on High-order Mode
The gyrotron traveling wave tube(Gyro-TWT)is one of vacuum electronic devices with the characteristics of high power,high gain and wide band.It has great application prospects in wireless com-munications,electronic countermeasures,security imaging and other fields.A G-band gyro-TWT operat-ing at TE02 mode with periodic dielectric loaded(PDL)waveguide is designed with theoretical analysis and particle in cell(PIC)simulation.The PIC simulation results show that with an input electron beam of 60 kV and 3 A,the output power of the gyro-TWT is 14kW at 215 GHz,the output efficiency is 7.7%,the saturated gain is 45 dB,and the 3 dB bandwidth is 9.5 GHz.
