Study on Working Stability of Cold Cathode Trigger Tubes
With the development of inline explosive foil detonation/ignition technology, higher require-ments are put forward for its safety and reliability.High voltage switches are key components in this tech-nology,and the application environments of them are very demanding. Therefore, high voltage switches are required to have small resistance and inductance, high conductivity, long service life, high stability and reliability. The stability of the self-breakdown voltage and delay time of the cold cathode trigger tube,a commonly used high-voltage switch, directly affects the safety and reliability of the inline ignition technol-ogy.The working stability of the cold cathode trigger tube is studied by analyzing discharge mechanism, improving electrode surface state, optimizing aging scheme, and conducting experimental comparative a-nalysis.It is concluded that by means of electrochemical polishing to improve the electrode surface state and aging with low current and high current to stabilize the discharge characteristics, the stability of the self-breakdown voltage and delay time of the cold cathode trigger tube can be improved and the safety and reli-ability of the cold cathode trigger tube in inline explosive foil initiation/ignition technology are enhanced.
