On the influence of Da Ming Law on the Joseon Kingdom during the Chengzong Period
In the early years of Kingdom Chengzong's reign,the deviation of legal application from the Da Ming Law was challenged,the coexistence of multiple laws began to change,and the Da Ming Law became the basic principle for conviction and sentencing.With the rise of the status of Da Ming Law,there gradually formed the concept that monarchs could not freely modify it at will,and Da Ming Law even became the accordance for resisting certain incorrect decisions of the monarch.Determined by the specific national conditions and customs of the peninsula,the monarch,who might still push the court to modify some provisions of Da Ming Law,had been quite restrained.In order to further enhance the status and authority of Da Ming Law,the court also actively transformed customs and traditions with Da Ming Law,which is to fashion the society and culture through law,and is an important function of Da Ming Law in the peninsula.
