Road Performance of VAE Modified Emulsified Asphalt Cold Recycled Mixture Under Different Curing Ages
When emulsified asphalt cold recycling technology is applied to road engineering, various pavement diseases often occur due to the limitation of curing age and the insufficient water stability of cold recycled mixture. In this paper,in order to improve the water stability of cold recycled mixture,a new modifier ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer(VAE)was used to modify emulsified asphalt. The variation law of road performance of VAE modified emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixture during a long curing period was explored.Taking the ordinary emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixture as a comparison, the road performance of VAE modified emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixture was comprehensively analyzed by dry-wet splitting test,freeze-thaw splitting test,20 ℃ Cantabro Test, rutting test and-10 ℃ bending test, and the mechanism of performance improvement of VAE modified emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixture was analyzed from a microscopic perspective.Test and analysis results show that:3~7 d is the key stage of emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixture strength development;no matter from the water stability,anti-stripping or high and low temperature performance, the performance of VAE modified emulsified asphalt mixture is better than ordinary emulsified asphalt cold recycled mixture, which has application value.
