Effect of Aggregate Shape on Permeable Concrete Skeleton and Properties
Permeable concrete is a kind of skeleton void structure, the interior of which is formed by coarse aggregate skeleton, and the aggregate is bonded by cement slurry and other materials,so the aggregate form has an important impact on the characteristics and performance of the skeleton of permeable concrete. In this paper, different forms of aggregate particles were selected to analyze the effects of aggregate morphology on the characteristics, porosity, permeability and mechanical properties of permeable concrete. The results show that the addition of an appropriate amount of fine aggregate with rich edges and angles can reduce the aggregate gap rate and significantly increase the locking capacity of the aggregate skeleton. The effective porosity and water permeability of permeable concrete are reduced by fine aggregate, while needle-like 9.5~13.2 mm coarse aggregate can significantly increase the porosity and water permeability of the specimen;an appropriate amount of fine aggregate with rich angularity can significantly improve the compressive strength of permeable concrete, while needle-like fine aggregate and coarse aggregate reduce the compressive strength.
