A Soil-water Characteristic Curve Model for Unsaturated Soil Considering Initial Porosity
To construct a soil water characteristic curve model of unsaturated soil considering initial porosity, starting from the pore distribution law of the soil, the soil pore size distribution curve under any load state was obtained by translating and scaling the pore size distribution curve under the reference state.Combined with the Yong Laplace equation and VG model,a soil water characteristic curve model considering initial porosity was derived. This model only contains 5 parameters with clear physical meanings, and only needs to determine the model parameters through the soil water characteristic curve of the reference state, which can be used to predict the soil water characteristic curve of any initial pore ratio.Five groups of experimental data were used to verify the proposed model. The results show that the model can well simulate the water holding characteristics of unsaturated soil under different initial porosity.
