Research on Asphalt Pavement Skid Resistance Model Based on the Mechanical Characteristics of Tire-pavement Contact
To further characterize the skid resistance of asphalt pavement,an asphalt pavement skid resistance model was established by analyzing the mechanical characteristics of tire-pavement contact. The asphalt mixes of AC-13,GAC-13 and UTAC-10 were used as research objects, and the laser texture measuring instrument was used to obtain 3 D information of pavement texture, and related tests such as pressure films were carried out to obtain the values of each parameter in the model. The validity of the model was verified by correlation analysis between the model results and BPN,andthe contribution of adhesive friction and occlusion to pavement skid resistance was explored in the model. The result shows that the correlation between the model results and BPN reaches 0.988 1,indicating that this model can well characterise the skid resistance of asphalt pavements. The coefficient of adhesion friction of each pavement is greater than the coefficient of occlusion(in the range of 0.1~0.25)in the range of 0.3~0.4,which indicates that adhesion friction is the main factor affecting the anti-skid performance of pavements in the early stage of road operation. In addition,a high coefficient of occlusion means that the pavement has a better skidding potential in the middle and late stages of skidding decay or under unfavourable conditions such as the presence of water.
