Synthesis and Performance Evaluation for Styrene Butadiene Rubber Modified Emulsified Asphalt with"One-time Cold"Mixing Method
To improve the performance of emulsified asphalt based on the"one-time cold mixing"method,SBR-modified emulsified asphalt was prepared by using SBR as the modifier of emulsified asphalt. The effects of different modifier content(1%,2%,3%,4%)on the properties of emulsified asphalt were studied by conventional performance tests and storage stability tests. Moreover,a dynamic shear rheometer(DSR)was used to carry out the temperature scanning test of modified emulsified asphalt evaporation residue, and the rheological properties of emulsified asphalt residue at high and low temperatures were analyzed. The results show that with the increase of SBR content, the injection degree of modified emulsified asphalt decreases gradually, the softening point increases gradually, and the storage stability of asphalt emulsion decreases. This shows that the addition of SBR can improve the high-temperature performance of emulsified asphalt, but too high SBR content will adversely affect its working performance. The high-temperature rheological test results show that with the increase of SBR content, the complex modulus and rutting resistance factor of modified emulsified asphalt residue are gradually increased, the high-temperature rheological property of asphalt is enhanced, and the fatigue factor is also increased, which indicates that SBR can improve the rheological property, elastic characteristics and deformation resistance of emulsified asphalt. The low-temperature rheological test shows that the low-temperature performance of asphalt can be improved by adding less than 3%SBR.Considering all the influencing factors,it is suggested that the SBR content should be controlled below 3%.
