Research on Carbon Emission Estimation of Expressway Construction Period Based on Project Budget
Reducing carbon emissions from transport infrastructure is considered one of the potential ways to combat climate change. In order to estimate CO2 emissions from expressway construction activities and determine the main carbon emission sources during construction period, this paper proposes a carbon emission estimation method based on project budget for expressway construction period, which is divided into two stages:material transportation and on-site construction. The results show that more than 75%of carbon emissions come from construction machinery and equipment, material transportation and labor accounted for 13%and 8.5%respectively,and the average carbon emissions of material transportation, labor and construction machinery are 211.43,136.06,1 236.54 t CO2/km,respectively.Meanwhile,the average carbon emission per unit mileage of roadbed, pavement and bridge culvert is 1 038.05,1 038.05,2 925.68 t CO2/km,and the average carbon emissions per unit construction and installation cost are 0.47,0.05,0.28 t CO2/(ten thousand yuan). In addition, more than 75%of carbon emissions in the transportation of materials come from dump trucks;in site construction, more than 77%of carbon emissions come from piling and drilling machinery, metal wood and stone processing machinery, earthwork engineering machinery and lifting and vertical transport machinery. In general, the research results of this paper can provide reference for the construction unit to carry out carbon emission management and mechanical equipment selection.
