Innovation of Chinese Civilization Reflected in the Art of Dragons
Dragon culture is one of the longest-lasting cultural phenomena in traditional Chinese culture.Based on the dragon's appearance and craftsmanship in various historical periods,this paper analyzes the innova-tion of Chinese civilization reflected in the art of dragons.The various forms of dragons in Chinese history are the constantly innovative products of the ancient Chinese nation.The horned dragon was created on the basis of the hornless dragon,the legged dragon was invented on the basis of the legless dragon,the winged dragon was created on the basis of the wingless dragon,and the five-colored dragon was established on the basis of the single-colored dragon.The craftsmanship of making dragons also continuously innovated with the development of society,ranging from the earliest dragon made of mud to carved dragons,painted dragons,and embroidered dragons.Dragon cul-ture is a symbol of national unity and cultural identity.Protective and inheritable measures should be taken for the essence of dragon culture,and creative transformation and innovative development should be carried out.
