The modernization of ethnic regions is a crucial component of achieving Chinese-style modernization,with the modernization of material civilization playing a decisive role.Material civilization,within a socialist society,refers to the material outcomes of humanity's transformation of nature,manifested through the advancement of material production and the improvement of material life.This paper discusses the modernization of material civilization in eth-nic regions from two perspectives:"modernization of material production"and"modernization of material life."It ar-gues that during the development process of material civilization modernization in ethnic regions,it is essential to pay close attention to maintaining two constants:the effective connection between poverty alleviation and rural revitaliza-tion,and the dialectical relationship between ecological protection and economic development.
