Protection of Traditional Handicrafts from the Perspective of Symbiosis Theory:A Case Study of"Guanyao"Handmade Pottery
In the new era where the government places high importance on intangible cultural heritage(ICH)protection, promoting the positive interaction of various elements in traditional handicraft protection is a key issue.Analyzing the interaction process and action strategies of multiple elements in Hubei's"Guanyao"handmade pottery from the perspective of symbiosis theory, the author finds that it faces challenges such as difficult transformation of traditional processing techniques, lack of successors for pottery artisans, and insufficient market demand. However, protection strategies such as utilizing modern technology for transformation, strengthening the protection and cultiva-tion of inheritors, and constructing a pottery culture ecosystem have promoted the material reconnection of the symbi-otic units such as"clay"and"kiln",which strengthened the practical connection of symbiotic relationships centered on inheritors, and built a symbiotic environment for pottery culture integration. This vividly demonstrates the interac-tive symbiotic mechanism of traditional handicraft protection.Based on this, the protection and development of tradi-tional handicrafts in China should adhere to the symbiosis of traditional handicrafts and modern elements, improve the cultural heritage system of traditional handicrafts, and enhance public participation in the protection and inheritance of traditional handicrafts.
