Primary Ideological Connotations of Poetry in Jin Dynasty from the Perspective of the Community for the Chinese Nation
The Song-Jin period, characterized by the coexistence of regimes in the north and south,is referred to by academia as the second period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties in Chinese history. This era also serves as a historical testament to the communication, exchange, and integration among various ethnic groups within China. The rulers of the Jin dynasty adopted an attitude of acceptance, reference, and inheritance toward mainstream Confu-cian traditional culture, implementing a cultural policy of"learning from talents of different eras",which facilitated the development of Jin dynasty literature under the influence of Song dynasty literature.Examining Jin dynasty poetry from the perspective of sense of community for the Chinese nation,we may find that the thematic expressions and ide-ological values of Jin poetry are primarily manifested through the following aspects:the inheritance of Confucian value orientations such as the ritual and music system;traditional thoughts emphasizing family, state, and the world, along with reverence for orthodoxy;realistic portrayals reflecting compassion for the people and the nation;and aspirations to emulate the noble sentiments of ancient sages. These elements not only reflect the emotional world and psychologi-cal identification of Jin poets with a sense of family, state, and compassion for the people, but also highlight the Jin literati's commitment to the inheritance and promotion of mainstream Confucian culture.
