As a rich source of natural medicine and active precursor,traditional Chinese medicine has received increasing attention because of natural active peptides/proteins besides small molecular components.With the rapid development of separation and purification technologies and advanced screening and identification strategies,more biologically active peptides with medicinal value have been discovered and reported.This article reviewed the discovery and screening methods for active peptides in recent years,aiming to provide reference for the research and discovery of active peptides in traditional Chinese medicine.
