Loquat flowers from different regions by HPLC fingerprint and content determination combined with chemical pattern recognition
Objective To establish the UPLC fingerprint of loquat flowers, determine the content of four components in loquat flowers, and use chemical pattern recognition to compare the differences in loquat flowers from various origins. Methods The fingerprints of loquat flowers from different origins were established by UPLC,the content of hyperoside, chlorogenic acid, isoquercetin, and quercetin-3-rhamnoside was determined. The similarity evaluation, cluster analysis, partial least squares discriminant analysis and principal component analysis of the fingerprints of 20 batches of loquat flowers were conducted, loquat flowers from different origins classified and difference markers determined. Results The UPLC fingerprint of loquat flowers was established,10 common fingerprint peaks were calibrated and 4 components were identified, the similarities of 20 batches of loquat flowers ranged 0.970~0.999.The samples were divided into two categories by cluster analysis and principal component analysis. The OPLS-DA analysis showed that hyperoside, chlorogenic acid and isoquercetin served as difference markers to evaluate loquat flowers from different origins. There were differences in the chemical components of loquat flowers from different habitats. Conclusion The established UPLC fingerprint and component quantification method for loquat flowers is effective and stable, which together with chemical pattern recognition, can provide reference for the quality research of loquat flowers.
