Objective To determine the chemical constituents of Pachysandra terminalis Sieb.et Zucc..Methods The separation and purification were conducted by silica gel column chromatography,gel column chromatography and semi-preparative liquid chromatography.The structural was analyzed by combining its physicochemical properties and spectroscopic techniques such as NMR,IR and MS.Results Ten compounds were isolated from 80%ethanol extract of Pachysandra terminalis and identified as(+)-syringaresinol(1),benzoic acid(2),4-hydroxy benzaldehyde(3),4-hydroxyacetophenone(4),vanillic acid(5),syringaldehyde(6),4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyacetophenone(7),3,4,5-trimethoxylbenzoic acid(8),3-hydroxy-1-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-1-propanone(9),and schumannione(10).Conclusion Compounds 1~4,and 7~10 have been isolated for the first time from Pachysandra.
