Determination of cinnabar in Xiangsu Zhengwei pills by ICP-MS
Objective To determine the toxic component cinnabar in Xiangsu Zhengwei pills. Methods The sample of Xiangsu Zhengwei pills was dissolved in 5 mL hydrochloric acid-nitric acid(3∶1)before ultrasound. The mixture was diluted with water and 2%nitric acid, and a gold reserve solution was added to achieve a mercury to gold ratio of 1∶200,and then diluted with 2%nitric acid to quantitatively analyze the content of mercury in cinnabar by ICP-MS.Results The mercury concentration was in a good linearity with signal intensity within 0~15 ng·mL-1.The regression equation was Y=2614X+317,r=0.9999,and the average recovery was 97.6%,with RSD of 1.7%.The content of mercury in cinnabar in 3 batches of samples(calculated as mercury sulfide)ranged 5.76~5.85 mg per pill. Conclusion The method is reliable, accurate, and specific, and can effectively control the content of toxic ingredients in the preparation.
