Effect of ginseng compound fermented extract on the proliferation of mouse hair follicle cells
Objective To evaluate the proliferative effect of ginseng compound fermented extract on mouse hair follicle cells, predict the effective proliferation promoting components in these cells, and determine the material basis for related mechanism. Methods The method involved co-fermentation of ginseng with Bacillus subtilis,Lactobacillus casei, and Lactobacillus acidophilus. After the extraction, ginseng fermented extract was obtained. The proliferation rate of mouse hair follicle cells was assessed by CCK-8 assay to evaluate the proliferative effect of ginseng compound fermented extract.Ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q-TOF-MS)was used to analyze the differential chemical components before and after the ginseng fermentation. Results The ginseng compound fermented extract exhibited a proliferation rate of 59.83%on mouse hair follicle cells, surpassing the effect of non-fermented ginseng extract.UPLC-Q-TOF-MS analysis revealed 26 differential components between the ginseng compound fermented extract and ginseng extract:13 components increasing and 13 decreasing after the fermentation. Conclusion Ginseng compound fermented extract demonstrates great advantages in promoting the proliferation of mouse hair follicle cell. After the fermentation, the content of 13 components, including soyasaponin, daidzein glucoside, ginsenoside Rb2,ginsenoside Rh2,and ginsenoside Rh4 are increased, suggesting their potential as effective components in promoting mouse hair follicle cell proliferation.
