Endogenous Industrial Heritage and Its Classification
"Endogenous industrial heritage"refers to China's industrial heritage with self-developed technologies that existed before the Industrial Revolution.Focusing on the development of ancient Chinese technological characteristics,endogenous industrial heritage embodies the historicity and richness of China's industrial heritage,which distinctly differs from the industrial heritage in other temporal and spatial frameworks.Currently,there are few systematic discussions in academia that addressed its connotation,composition and classification.This article examines relevant concepts,proposes the notion of"endogenous industrial heritage",and classifies them according to the characteristics of ancient Chinese industry,the type,composition and quantity of existing heritage,as well as original industrial type and production processes.This classification helps to construct a horizontal comparison framework for measuring technical values,provides new perspectives for future research,and serves as a reference for practical heritage identification and conservation efforts.
