A Preliminary Discussion on the Detrimental Effects of"Three Highs"Coastal Environment on Helicopters and Suggestions for Countermeasures
The coastal region, characterized by a subtropical climate, experiences annual rainfall ex-ceeding 1200 millimeters, with high temperatures, humidity, and salt content in the air during the summer months.According to relevant records,51% of the failures in airborne equipment during op-eration are caused by environmental factors, with failures induced by high temperatures, humidity, and salt fog being the most prevalent. Therefore,it is imperative for maintenance personnel to thor-oughly understand the detrimental effects of environmental factors on helicopters, grasp the failure patterns and maintenance characteristics under different environmental conditions, and implement practical preventive measures to maintain the equipment in optimal condition, thereby ensuring the safe and smooth execution of missions. This paper focused on the adverse impacts of"high tempera-ture,high humidity, and high salt fog"environments on helicopters, and proposed corresponding measures to enhance the operational readiness of helicopters.
