Decipherment of ancient literature about Cynomorium songaricum
Cynomorium songaricum was first seen in the Supplement to Augmented Materia Medica as a substitute medicine for Cistanche deserticola, which is mainly produced in Gansu,Inner Mongolia,Ningxia,Shaanxi and other regions. As a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine in clinical and health care,Cynomorium songaricum still has doubts about its origin, authenticity, harvesting, taste, efficacy, and other aspects,as well as easily overlooked usage taboos. Therefore,it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive and systematic review, research, and analysis. After research,it has been found that Cynomorium songaricum is harvested in the spring and winter seasons, with a sweet taste and warm nature. It belongs to the liver, kidney, and large intestine meridians, and can nourish Yin and nourish essence.Based on this,it can derive the function of"strengthening Yang",which can treat various symptoms such as deficiency of essence and blood, weak waist and knees, and dry and constipation of the intestine. However,it should be avoided for those with deficiency and dry stool, diarrhea, and those with easy Yang lifting but weak essence. The research results can provide reference for the clinical rational use of Cynomorium songaricum and its health application.
