Pharmaceutical botany is a fundamental discipline in pharmacy,traditional Chinese medicine,traditional Chinese medicine resources and development and related specialties.Field practice is an essential link in the teaching of pharmaceutical botany.Using the Medicinal Plant Practice Network Learning Platform,students can conveniently gain an online understanding of various aspects of field practice,prepare in advance,and later showcase their achievements.WeChat Rain Classroom platform is used for online announcements of practice arrangements,reference materials,assignments and specimen identification test questions.The practical experience is the focal point of the internship campaign,encompassing specimen collection,preparation,photography,route design,species identification,and comprehensive assessment.Using Mayan of Huixian in Gansu Province as a base for the internship,a two-step route planning software was used to design and document the internship route,recording the locations and images of medicinal plants.An electronic version of the internship area's medicinal plant manual was created.This serves for both pre-study and renewal during the internship process.This blended approach of online and offline internships,which has been implemented over the past five years in various internship bases,has shown that it enhances the efficiency of teacher-student interactions,shortens feedback response times,improves internship efficiency,enhances students'practical and cognitive abilities,improves their field identification skills for medicinal plants,and increases environmental awareness,ultimately achieving the objectives of the internship.
