Evaluation of the therapeutic effect of Xianglian solution on artificially infected colibacillosis in chicken
The objective was to study the therapeutic effect of Xianglian solution on artificially infected chicken colibacillosis and determine the recommended clinical dosage of Xianglian solution.Twelve-day-old SPF chickens were randomly divided into five groups:blank control group,model control group,high-dose,medium-dose,and low-dose group of Xianglian solution,with 30 chickens in each group.The model control group and each administration group were artificially infected by injecting Escherichia coli solution into the chest muscle.Immediately after infection,the drug group was given Xianglian solution once daily for 7 days,and continued to observe for 7 days after stopping the drug.The blank control group was kept in isolation without infection,and was given normal saline after injection.During the experiment,the clinical symptoms,autopsy changes,treatment effect and organ lesion rate were observed.The results showed that Xianglian solution could effectively improve the clinical symptoms of chicken colibacillosis,and the mental state and fecal morphology were restored to a certain extent.Among them,the high and medium dose groups showed significant improvement in the clinical symptoms of chicken colibacillosis.Compared with the model control group,the liver periarthritis rate and pericarditis rate of diseased chickens in the high and medium dose groups of Xianglian solution were significantly reduced(P<0.05).The number of chicken deaths was decreased,and the infection mortality rate was significantly decreased(P<0.05).The cure rate and total effective rate were significantly increased(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in treatment effect between the high and medium dose groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the indexes before and after treatment in the low dose group of Xianglian solution(P>0.05).The results indicate that Xianglian solution has a good therapeutic effect on chicken colibacillosis.Taking into account the cost of medication and clinical efficacy,the recommended oral dose of Xianglian solution is 0.5 mL/kg BW,with administration once daily for continuous 7 days.
