Effects of compound Chinese herbal preparation on laying performance, egg quality and serum biochemical indexes of forest blue-eggshell black-boned chickens
This study aims to investigate the effects of adding different proportions of compound Chinese herbal medicines to forest blue-eggshell black-boned chickens on the laying performance, egg quality and serum biochemical indicators.560 healthy and with similar body weight blue-eggshell black-boned chickens aged 520 days were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups, including control group and experimental group(groupⅠ,groupⅡand groupⅢ).The control group was fed with basal diet, while groupsⅠ,Ⅱ,andⅢwere fed the basal diet supplemented with 0.5%,1.0%and 1.5%compound Chinese herbal medicine additives, respectively, the experimental period was 45 days. The results showed that adding different levels of compound Chinese herbal preparations to the diet had significant effects on the average egg weight, average egg production rate, and blue shell egg damage rate of forest blue-eggshell black-boned chickens.Among them, the average egg weight of groupⅡwas significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),the average laying rate of groupsⅠandⅡwere significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and the damage rate of group Ⅱ was significantly lower than that of the control group.Adding different levels of compound Chinese herbal preparations to the diet had a significant effect on the yolk relative weight, egg white content, yolk moisture content, yolk index, and Haugh unit of blue shell eggs(P<0.05).Among them, the relative weight of yolk in blue shell eggs in group Ⅱ was significantly higher than that of control group(P<0.05).The white content of blue shell eggs in groupsⅠ,Ⅱ,andⅢwere significantly higher than that of control group(P<0.05).The moisture content of blue shell eggs in groupsⅡandⅢwere significantly lower than that of control group and groupⅠ(P<0.05).The yolk index of blue shell eggs in group Ⅱ was significantly higher than that of control group and group Ⅰ(P<0.05).The Hasselblad unit of blue shell eggs in GroupⅡwas significantly higher than that of control group and groupⅢ(P<0.05).Adding different levels of compound Chinese herbal preparations to the diet had a significant effect on serum total protein(TP),globulin(GLO),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),cholesterol(TC)and triglyceride(TG)of forest blue-eggshell black-boned chickens(P<0.05).Among them, the serum TP content of groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ were significantly higher than that of control group(P<0.05).The serum GLO content in groups Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ were significantly higher than that of control group(P<0.05).The serum ALT activity in group Ⅲ was significantly higher than that of control group and group Ⅰ.And the serum TC and TG contents in group Ⅱ were significantly higher than of control group(P<0.05).In summary, adding different levels of compound Chinese herbal preparations to the diet can effectively improve the egg production performance, egg quality and serum biochemical indicators of blue-eggshell black-boned chickens, especially using 1.0%compound Chinese herbal preparations has the best effect.
