Preliminary mechanism and effect of functional premix on growth performance of weaned piglets
In order to explore the effects of 3 functional premixes on growth performance, serum antioxidant level, inflammatory factors and immunoglobulin of early weaned piglets,144 21-day-old crossbred weaned piglets with similar body weight and good health were randomly divided into 4 groups with 6 replicates per group and 6 piglets per replicate.GroupsⅠ,Ⅱ,andⅢwere the trial groups, and 1 kg/t of 3 functional premixes were respectively added into their basal diets, while groupⅣwas the control group fed with basal diet for 28 days.On 0 d,14 d and 28 d of the test, the daily gain, feed efficiency, serum antioxidant index, inflammatory factors and immunoglobulin content were determined, respectively. The results showed that compared with groupⅣ,the body weights, daily gains, daily feed intakes and the feed efficiencies of the piglets in group Ⅱ were all significantly increased(P<0.05);the serum catalase contents of piglets in group Ⅰ and Ⅱ were significantly decreased(P<0.05)within two weeks;serum immunoglobulin levels and IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-α levels of piglets in the 3 trial groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05)within two weeks. It prompted that the 3 functional premix products could improve the growth performance of weaned piglets, and among them, the effect of groupⅡwas better than the other 2 trial groups, and its mechanism is possibly to enhance the body's immune function and reduce inflammation.
