Thrombosis has a vital role in physiological hemostasis to reduce blood loss in time, but pathological thrombosis will seriously endanger the health of the organism.Platelets originate from segmented breaks in the cytoplasm of megakaryocytes, and their activation is associated with a variety of functions, such as adhesion, release and aggregation, and participation in coagulation reactions.Thrombosis is affected by many factors, but its formation process is divided into two basic steps:platelet activation and coagulation reaction, and its therapeutic drugs are mainly divided into antiplatelet drugs and anticoagulant drugs.Currently, many listed antithrombotic drugs inhibit the formation of thrombus from various pathways such as related receptors and signaling pathways, and have good clinical effects, such as aspirin and warfarin; However, studies in recent years have found that many of the antithrombotic drugs being applied have certain bleeding risks. In recent years,as the physical life of pets continues to improve, the incidence of cardiovascular disease in middle-aged and older companion animals has been increasing year by year. However,at the present stage of research on the prevention of thrombosis drugs were generally used in humans,so far, there are no pet-specific preventive thrombosis drugs on the market. Therefore,it is increasingly important to develop novel and effective thromboprophylaxis drugs for pets. This article discussed the mechanism of antithrombotic drugs, which may provide a reference for the development of pet-specific thromboprophylaxis drugs.
