Exploration and practice of blended online and offline teaching in veterinary parasitology courses
To improve the teaching effectiveness of veterinary parasitology,Xueyin Online is used as the teaching platform to upload teaching videos,courseware,lesson plans,and test questions,integrate ideological and political education into the curriculum,strengthen process assessment,and build a mixed course of veterinary parasitology.A mixed teaching model of simple content online teaching,complex knowledge and practical operation offline teaching was adopted for 81 students majoring in veterinary medicine in the college students of 2020 and 2021.The teaching effect was compared with 80 students majoring in veterinary medicine in the college students of 2018 and 2019 under the traditional teaching model.Under the blended learning mode,the total number of views for the online course of veterinary parasitology reached 370 292,with a cumulative interaction of 2 047 times,an attendance rate of 97%,an average learning time of 389 minutes per student,an average of 83 points for process assessment,and a course pass rate of 100.0%;Under the traditional teaching mode,the veterinary parasitology course has been studied 5 127 times,with a cumulative interaction of 168 times,an attendance rate of 85%,an average learning time of 210 minutes per person,a process assessment score of 65 points per student,and a course pass rate of 92.5%.The difference in average learning time between the two teaching modes is extremely significant(P<0.01),and the difference in average score for process assessment is significant(P<0.05).The construction and application of mixed courses in veterinary parasitology have enhanced students'interest in learning,increased their learning frequency,interaction frequency and learning duration,improved the course pass rate and teaching effectiveness.
