Centennial commemoration of Mr.YU Chuan:learning from both ancient and modern times,well-known both home and abroad
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mr.YU Chuan,a renowned Chinese veterinary theorist,founder of modern Chinese veterinary science,and professor at China Agricultural University.Mr.YU has been dedicated to the teaching,research,and talent cultivation of Chinese veterinary medicine for over half a century.Mr.YU is the initiator,staunch defender,and supporter of the development of the Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine,Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.With the initiative and support of Mr.YU Chuan and others,the research institute established the Journal of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.Mr.YU Chuan was invited to serve as a specially appointed editorial board member of the first editorial committee.This article systematically reviewed Mr.YU Chuan's outstanding contributions in research,teaching,talent cultivation,establishment and development of the Research Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine,and the establishment and growth of the Journal of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.It elaborates on the important significance of Mr.YU's academic ideas for the development of modern traditional Chinese veterinary medicine in China.Mr.YU will always live in people's hearts!
