Speech transmission index(STI)is an indicator for evaluating the quality of speech signal transmission.The measurement methods include the complete STI method and the Speech Transmission Index for Public Address Systems(STIPA)method.In this article,the AWA6292 multifunctional sound level meter and AWA5512 intelligent sound source is used to introduce the STIPA method for the measurement without sound reinforcement,the measurement with sound rein-forcement system and microphone input,and the measurement with sound reinforcement system and line input.And the op-eration of the instrument is also introduced in detail.These instruments can be applied to the measurement test of conference rooms,classrooms,auditoriums,sports stadiums,broadcasting studios,and audio-assistance systems.This article has provid-ed a valuable reference for practitioners in related fields.
