Noise Reduction Application of New Muffler Material in an Electric Arc Test Facility
The noise from the exhaust outlet of an electric arc test facility exceeds factory boundary emission standard, and the exhaust composition is highly corrosive. The noise reduction measures are ineffective due to the corrosion of the tra-ditional noise reduction materials. The project belongs to technical transformation engineering, the trouble of material corro-sion must be solved,so non-metallic materials should be used to build muffler duct. However, conventional non-metallic noise reduction materials can't meet the requirements of flame retardation, material strength, moisture resistance, sound ab-sorption performance, etc. While the cellular silicate sand noise reduction plate is a new type of sound-absorbing and sound-insulating plates. In this project, the excellent characteristics of the plate was used to carry out the research and development of honeycomb ventilation and muffler duct by means of plate splicing. The test analysis of anechoic and ventilation was com-pleted in the laboratory, and a suitable anechoic structure for this project was finally designed and successfully applied to the project. The non-metallic anechoic structure developed using cellular silicate sand noise reduction plate has created a new product form for the engineering application of duct anechoic structure.
