Occurrence patterns of bean bug Riptortus pedestris in different cropping structures in the Huang-Huai-Hai region
To clarify the effect of soybean-maize strip intercropping on the occurrence of bean bug Rip-tortus pedestris,a comparative trapping efficiency analysis was conducted in Shandong Province in 2023. Windmill traps were used to investigate the occurrence of R. pedestris across various planting sys-tems in six cities spanning Shandong,Henan, and Anhui provinces. The results indicated that windmill traps were most effective in capturing R. pedestris. Peak infestation of R. pedestris in soybean fields oc-curred from mid-July to mid-August,corresponding to soybean flowering to pod-setting stages. More-over,there was no significant difference in occurrence patterns between soybean-maize strip intercrop-ping and soybean fields. Timing of insecticide application should be synchronized with the number of pests and peak infestation periods.
