Summary of Research on Natural Disasters in Liao Dynasty over the Past Three Decades
Since the 1990s,based on the exploration and interpretation of documents and stone inscrip-tions,the study of natural disasters in the Liao Dynasty has started,and research results on types of dis-aster,natural and human factors,adverse effects,and government and civil countermeasures have been e-merging continuously,and some considerable consensus has been reached.Research methods have gradu-ally moved toward a new trend of interdisciplinary research based on the analysis of documents.However,the study of natural disasters in the Liao Dynasty still focuses on the disaster as a whole and its impact on the large scale,and pays less attention to the specific regions and non-governmental subjects.
