A Study on English Translation Strategies of Hongshan Culture-loaded Words from the Perspective of Cultural Translation Theory
The publicity of characteristic culture can better show the image of a country and region.As a relatively early prehistoric cultural relic in north frontier of China,Hongshan culture is a typical symbol of prehistoric civilization.It belongs not only to the Chinese people,but also to the whole world,so it should be understood and paid attention to by more people in the world.However,through investigation,it is found that the number of English translation of Hongshan culture-loaded words is not sufficiant and there are some phenomenons of mistranslation and word-to-word translation.Based on the Cultural Translation Theory,this paper explores the application of the two translation strategies which are"domestication"and"foreignization"to improve the translation quality of Hongshan culture-loaded words.
