A Study of Political Attitudes of Gonzang Norbu during the Monk and Tibet Bureau(Institute)
Gonsang Norbu,a Zasak from the Karakin Right Banner of Inner Mongolia,served as the pres-ident of the Bureau of Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs for sixteen years.During his tenure,he identified with the Chinese nation,embraced the Republic of China,supported the republic,joined the Kuomintang,opposed the independence of Outer Mongolia,maintained the stability of Inner Mongolia,opposed the"Twenty-one Articles"proposed by Japan for the destruction of China,and advocated the defense of the country against the economic aggression of the Great Powers,thus contributing to the maintenance of the unity of the motherland.
