The Importance of Language Monitoring Theory in Language Acquisition and Communication
When it comes to the theory of language monitoring,Stephen Krashen is the first person who comes to mind.Krashen's theory of language monitoring primarily addresses individual language acquisition in second language learning.Learners have a system in their mind that automatically reviews and verifies the correctness and appropriateness of what they have just said.This phenomenon of language monitoring is beneficial not only for the acquisition of a second language but also for the management of interperson-al relationships in interpersonal communication.Krashen's theory of language monitoring can be utilized not only as a learning strategy for students but also as a teaching strategy for teachers to optimize classroom design.The purpose of this paper is to explore the importance of the theory of language monitoring in language acquisition and communication,and to propose effective self-regulation strategies for learners and teaching strategies for teachers.
