The worship of dragons in the Liao Dynasty was mainly reflected in many aspects, such as us-ing dragons as place names, incorporating dragons into etiquette, naming officials and armies after dragons, and widely using dragon patterns. The reverence for dragons indicates that a dragon culture had already formed in the Liao Dynasty, which mainly had two connotations:symbolizing imperial power and symboliz-ing auspiciousness.Although the dragon culture of the Liao Dynasty was inherited from the Central Plains culture,it did not blindly apply it,but integrated the cultural characteristics of the Khitan people, which formed its own unique dragon culture of the Liao Dynasty. The dragon culture in the Liao Dynasty is an important part of the Chinese Loong culture, which is the cultural embodiment of the exchanges and ex-changes between the Qidan people and the Central Plains people.
