A Practice Study on Teaching Reading in College English Course via Reader Response Theory under the Visual Threshold of Critical Thinking
The state and society have new requirements for talent training in the new era.In addition to comprehensive language competence of English,students must be capable of thinking and analyzing logi-cally.One of the significant objectives of College English course is to guide students to read English es-says and works critically,and to foster students'abilities of thinking and analyzing.Previous research shows that integrating reader response theory into language teaching and learning process will help facili-tate students'reading ability and improve their individual development.This study aims to explore whether it is feasible for teachers to use reader response in College English course to help students become inde-pendent readers and foster their critical thinking gradually.
