Research on Related Issues of Overlapping Burials at Jiangjialiang Site
In Jiangjialiang site of Xiaoheyan Culture, there are a large number of overlapping burials. These burials are buried up and down, most of the human bones are undisturbed, and it is a single burial. There is a phenomenon of overlapping burial of up to five people, and there are some same-sex overlapping burials. Because these overlapping burials are basically at the edge of the burial group and most of them have no fu-nerary objects, the grade of overlapping burials in Jiangjialiang site is not high. The emergence of overlapping burials should be related to the united family form and primitive religious concept of Jiang Jialiang ancestors, who hoped to use this way to bring the souls of their relatives together after death,so as to maintain their clan concept and internal unity. There is also a overlapping burial in Gaotu Cemetery of Nanbaoli, which is also of Xiaoheyan culture, but its shape and characteristics are different from those of Jiangjialiang site.
