A Study on the Chinese Versions of "Shuo Tang Qian Zhuan"
There are various Chinese versions of "Shuo Tang Qian Zhuan",and now there are multiple Chi-nese versions stored in libraries both at home and abroad. At present,the academic research on the Chinese version of "Shuo Tang Qian Zhuan" is relatively lagging behind. Only a few scholars have mentioned the issue of the Chinese version of "Shuo Tang Qian Zhuan"in their works,without systematically organizing and catego-rizing it. According to the current surviving version,the Chinese version of "Shuo Tang Qian Zhuan" can be divided into two major systems based on the amount of textual content:the unabridged version and the abbre-viated version. There are significant differences between the two systems in terms of chapter structure,the number of poems and verses,and the content of the main text. The collection,organization,and systematic construction of the Chinese version of "Shuo Tang Qian Zhuan" provide a solid literature foundation for its version,dissemination,and translation research.
