Historic Street Vibrancy Estimation and Mechanism:A Case Study of Liwan District,Guangzhou
In order to study the characteristics of street vibrancy in historic conservation blocks and to improve the old city reconstruction, this research tries to do quantitative evaluation on the movement of residents, traffic accessibility, spatial form, function, and distribution of historic conservation in the 14 identified historic conservation blocks in Liwan District,Guangzhou. While the movement of residents is used as the indicator of street vibrancy, the other parameters are regarded as influence factors. The multivariate regression analysis has been adopted to the indicator and influence factors, and the result shows the street vibrancy is strongly correlated to POI density, spatial form of street, traffic accessibility, and POI diversity. On the contrary, the distribution of historic conservation doesn't show obvious correlation to the street vibrancy, indicating that we still need to explore the value of historic conservation blocks.
