Application of Historic Site Protection Updating Method under Multiscale Protection Thinking:Taking Ximen District of Xinghua City as an Example
The preservation and renewal of historical districts commonly face challenges such as unclear preservation requireme nts,difficulty in delineating the boundaries between preservation and renewal,and the dilemma of balancing distinctive character shaping and diverse historical memories.Taking the example of the Ximen area in Xinghua city,this approach adopts a multi-scale preservation mindset of"one urban block,one building,and one environment"to explore solutions.At the urban scale,it coord inates distinctive positioning,clarifies the direction of preservation and renewal,and ensures the synergy between historical and cult ural preservation and urban development goals.The scope of preservation and renewal for historical districts is expanded to the co mplete block scale,specifying preservation and renewal targets,and connecting and complementing urban functions and spaces.Fine-tuned design guidance is implemented at the scale of buildings and environments,facilitating the inheritance of diverse historical memories.
