Research on the Evolution of Publicity of Public Open Space in Chinese and Western Cities
Publicity is an important index that affects the quality and vitality of POS(public open space).With the proposal of the concept of people's city,the value connotation of urban public open space has changed from focusing on material function to benefiting public groups.Taking POS as the research object,this paper explores the theoretical connotation of POS.By referring to Habermas's"public domain"theory,this paper analyzes the historical evolution process of POS in Chinese and western cities based on historical dimensions,summarizes the characteristics of the evolution of publicity in POS,and draws a conclusion from a comparative perspective that the POS in Chinese and western planning practices have developed through different paths to reach the same destination.It not only enriches the theoretical research of POS,but also has positive significance for the effective implementation of urban renewal actions.
