The spatial pattern of traditional villages is an important material and spiritual heritage formed by their long-term development and inheritance,and also an important prerequisite for the protection planning and spatial development of traditional villages.Taking the traditional villages in northern Hunan as the research object,the geographic information is obtained through Arcgis and Google Maps,and the spatial analysis method is used to divide them into three types at the macro level:piedmont Pingba type villages,valley basin type villages,and hillside platform type villages.According to the basic characteristics of traditional village site selection,the spatial scope and spatial level are defined,and the plane form characteristics are summarized by graphic analysis,the spatial pattern based on the relationship of"mountain-village-field-road-river-pond"is expressed,and the influen cing factors of the spatial pattern of different types of villages are revealed by fra ctal thinking.
