With the growth of the economy and social development,the demand for urban renewal continues to strengthen.Existing hotel buildings,as an important component of the city,are consequently being scheduled for renovation and refurbishment.The scope of disciplines involved in the transformation of hotel buildings is extensive,with numerous categories,and their design strategies for renovation are still being explored in practice.This article selects the case study of the renovation and renewal of the Dongyuan building in Jinan city,analyzing aspects such as upgrading courtyard environments,updating external forms,and renovating internal functions,It explores design methods for renovating existing small and medium-sized hotel buildings,proposing specific renovation methods such as site landscape replanning,updating facade entrances,optimizing traffic flow,reorganizing public spaces,and upgrading room types,to integrate them into the urban environment,meet usage needs,and provide ideas and references for more projects of this kind.
