Thoughts on Goals and Paths of Practice for Child-friendly Parks
The outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan(2021-2025)for National Economic and Social Development is explicitly proposed to comprehensively promote the concept of child-friendliness in the construction of cities.Urban parks are seen as the most significant spatial carriers for children's outdoor activities.However,relevant research in China was commenced relatively late,and the construction of child-friendly parks is commonly confronted with a multitude of challenges.Through a comprehensive literature review,field research,and other methods,a range of theoretical and practical approaches to the design of child-friendly parks has been identified and evaluated.Key dimensions of park system construction,place optimization,facility improvement,mechanism enrichment,and policy safeguard have been focused on.A systematic and localized practical path for the design of child-friendly parks has also been developed,providing a valuable contribution to the ongoing efforts to promote the construction of child-friendly spaces in China.
