The Spatiotemporal Differentiation of Outdoor Constantholistic Shadow Space in Hot Summer Area
In order to improve the summer thermal comfort for activities of grouped people in outdoor public spaces in hot summer areas,it is an effective way to construct a kind of Constant-holistic Shadow(CHS)space, which depends on further understanding the spatiotemporal differences in the construction of CHS space in different geographical locations, seasonal dates and daytime period. In this paper, taking Changsha and Sanya as examples, which are, located in the north and south of the Tropic of Cancer, respectively based on the relevant software of Torch and Ecotect, the daytime sunshine shadows of a typical cuboid building at representative dates in the two locations were simulated, and the CHS spaces of relevant periods were delimited. And then, the spatiotemporal differentiation characteristics of the CHS space in position, shape and size on the typical daytime time dimension and May-October date dimension were analyzed, and its indicative significance for the construction is revealed,to provide a scientific basis and practical guidance for the effective construction of the CHS space.
