Cultural Persistence and Educational Expression:Exploration of the Artistic Connotation and Historical Causes of the Flower Window Fan Ring Plate in Sizhai Village
The artistic techniques of the small wooden lattice windows'silk ring panels in the residential architecture of Sizhai village,Zhuji city,Zhejiang province,distinctly differ from those in other regions.This is manifested in the higher position of the lattice windows and the adoption of more complex,refined,and waste-prone craftsmanship—pressed ground with hidden relief(low relief).By employing the concentric circle survey method to expand the sample and conduct in-depth research,this paper focuses on the location,techniques,imagery,interest,taste,and emotional appeal of the silk ring panels in the village.It explores the economic,cultural,and educational origins of this art form.Against the historical backdrop of vibrant productivity during the late Qing dynasty and the New Democratic Revolution period,and amidst relatively frequent foreign trade,the villagers of Sizhai village upheld"cultural confidence"and received corresponding economic positive feedback,serving as a micro-model of public enlightenment in rural society.The analysis of this phenomenon offers insights for the current artistic empowerment of rural construction,particularly in shaping works that possess local humanistic attributes and indigenous artistic characteristics.
