A Comparative Study on the Vitality of Historical and Cultural Blocks under the Perspective of Multidimensional Overlay:Taking Jinli and Wenshuyuan Blocks as Examples
Historic and cultural districts are one of the important material bases of a city's cultural connotation,carrying both the city's cultural memory and residents'daily interactions,etc.The comprehensive measurement of the vitality of historic and cultural districts based on the multidimensional superposition perspective is an important foundation for improving the quality of urban habitat and realizing the organic regeneration.The article selects Chengdu Jinli and Wenshuyuan blocks as the research objects,and analyzes them through literature enquiry,field research,and quantitative analysis of open source data collection.It conducts a comprehensive evaluation of the vitality of historical and cultural districts,and analyzes the existing advantages and shortcomings of the two districts in three dimensions:social culture,commercial economy,and physical space.The results show that:(1)On the socio-cultural dimension,Jinli block is more mature in terms of creative and cultural industries,and Wenshuyuan block is more closely connected to the daily life of the neighborhood;(2)on the commercial economy dimension,Jinli block has more obvious advantages in terms of commercial vitality,and Wenshuyuan block serves a more diversified group of people;(3)On the dimension of physical space,the continuity of the urban fabric of Jinli block is better.It is shown that in the future,the cultural background and positioning of the historic block need to be developed and managed in a more refined way,combining the lives of local residents and tourists,as well as tourist paths.
